DJ’s 2-Year-Old Son Has A Silky Smooth Swing

The most fundamental part of your golf game is certainly your swing, and that’s usually the cause for a lot of issues that golfers face on the course. But 2-year-old River Johnson doesn’t look to have any issues.

During the holiday weekend, Dustin Johnson and his family were enjoying spending time together like the rest of us. They also gave us a sneak peek into some holiday fun that Dustin and his son River enjoyed. Mom posted a video of Dustin and River teeing up some plastic balls in the yard that they were hitting down the road. And River has a silky smooth swing.

Personally, I’m more impressed that little River has the attention span to actually drive a ball with his dad. But the swing is just as impressive because it’s not like it’s only good compared to someone like Charles Barkley but it’s actually better than a lot of the guys on my local course! And why wouldn’t it be, because when you have the genes of Dustin Johnson and Pauline Gretzky, you’ve kinda hit the genetic jackpot.

So while RJ will be looking to build on that swing and keep the hype train moving until he’s eligible for the PGA TOUR, eyes will simply be on his father Dustin. DJ didn’t have the season he was hoping for this past year but he’s now gearing up to play in his first event in months after knee surgery. He’s hoping the long layoff won’t have an effect on his game.

I know even after a long layoff what it takes to be ready in tournament shape,” Johnson told GolfChannel.com’s Tim Rosaforte. “Obviously simulating tournament rounds is very difficult. Stuff like this helps, though. I know it’s pretty relaxed, but you still can put a little pressure on yourself. You’ve got to make some putts so it definitely helps.”

DJ is set to return to action at the Hero Challenge next week and then head off to join his countrymen for the Presidents Cup. Hopefully, Johnson puts up some good showings and shows the world he’s ready to be a top contender again in 2020.
