DraftKings Lineup of the Week: The American Express

In addition to the Bets article I’ve been putting out every week, I figured since I’m in my apartment for 3 weeks before classes at Syracuse even start, why not make some productive use out of my time and give you guys a winning (hopefully) lineup every week.

What Contest I’m Entering: Draftkings PGA Tour $100k Drive the Green

I’m not saying you have to enter this contest, because I’m sure a lot of you throw more than $5 into a lineup, but I’m a broke college student so what are you going to do about it. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

If you want a breakdown of my thoughts on the course, you can head to my Bets article that comes out on tuesdays, but here is the lineup I’m entering:

Tony Finau ($10,500)

Tony finished T14 here last year and he just feels like a guy who thrives in desert golf and can go low when needed. When the putter gets hot, he’s a guy that is elite in just about every category you want to look at.

Scottie Scheffler ($9,500)

I’m not a huge fan of just looking at what guys did in the previous year at the week’s tournament, but Scheffler finished solo 3rd last year, and he gains a lot of strokes off the tee. One thing I really like to see is that he’s gained strokes putting in his last 3 events.

Chris Kirk ($7,600)

I’m riding a hot hand here as Kirk was lights out at the Sony Open last week, posting a T2 finish. He putted really well and he’s been ball striking phenomenally this season, so I think $7,600 is good value for him.

Aaron Wise ($7,600)

Wise is still only 24 years old and has got off to a great start to this season, posting three top 30’s in his last four events. A stat we looked at on the Pin High Podcast this week was par 3 scoring average and Wise currently sits at 8th in that category so far this season.

Sepp Straka ($7,400)

I’m incredibly confident in Sepp Straka this week. He’s currently 19th in SG: approach, so he should have no problem hitting the small greens at PGA West, and he hasn’t missed a cut in his last 6 events. Another guy who is playing par 3’s very well this season.

Max Homa ($7,000)

I feel like this one has some boom or bust. Max Homa lives in Arizona, so he should be familiar with the style of golf, and he’s been posting about how he has been working really hard to get back to the good golf he was playing last season. I think there is a lot of potential in this pick, but I guess we’ll see how that turns out.

Good luck this week on the greens and hopefully this one’s a winner.
