The drama around Tiger Woods’ big win at The Masters has been heavy for the past week. People made big money on his win, golf gained huge TV ratings, and now, children are being named in his honor.

The New York Post was the first to share the story of Trey and Denise Little, who will be having their first child later this year. The husband and wife have been going over possible names for their child, a boy, and Trey being the big golf fan that he is, made a bet with his wife that if Tiger won The Masters, they would name their son Tiger.

Originally, this was supposed to be nothing more than a joke as Trey explained.

“This whole thing started almost as a joke, then it turned into something really real, really quick.”

Trey told The Post: “we both wanted a unique name, and I’ve always been a huge golf fan.” The seriousness really hit when Trey was bored at work one day and decided to make an official contract.

The contract that Trey drew up was dated for Thursday before Tiger teed off officially and states that if Tiger wins the tournament, Trey will be given the right to name their son Tiger.

The contract also lays out how Tiger’s win would be a remarkable comeback in the history of sports, illustrating why it would be an honor for their son to be named after Woods. Both husband and wife signed making it official.

As the couple watched Tiger come out on top after a nerve-racking final round on Sunday, they both were overcome with excitement and emotion, something Trey said they would have felt even without their child’s naming rights up for grabs.

And now that the bet is settled, Trey isn’t worried about their son having such a unique name because his middle name will be Julien, so he could even go by T.J. as he gets older.

While one man’s bet on Tiger netted him over a million dollars, I tend to think that Trey is the biggest bet winner when it comes to Tiger’s win. And who knows, with a name like Tiger, that young boy may find himself wearing a Green Jacket one day.
