The first event of the FedEx Cup playoffs is in the books, with the BMW Championship and Tour Championship remaining.

The event was known as the St. Jude Classic and was the final event before the playoffs for several years before it was shifted to a playoff event in 2022. At that point, the purse jumped dramatically from just over $6 million to $15 million for Will Zalatoris’ win in 2022. Last year, the purse jumped to $20 million, with $3.6 million going to Lucas Glover for his victory.

This year, the purse remains at $20 million, with $3.6 million going to Hideki Matsuyama. He also picked up 2,000 FedEx Cup points, which is quadruple the normal amount with the playoffs here.
