FIRST LOOK: Ben Hogan Releases Ft. Worth BLACK Irons
Ben Hogan Golf continues its re-emergence into the golf equipment world with the introduction of their new Ft. Worth BLACK irons.

The new irons are designed for the higher level of golfer and are introducing new features and improvements like the Diamond Black Metal (DBM) coating, optimization of their Dynamic Progressive Weighting system, and modification of the V-Sole design.
Their patented DBM coating isn’t just to make the irons look cool. It’s been developed for resilience and endurance and is seven times more durable than nickel chrome. This means less wear and tear on the grooves and scorelines and is more scratch resistance.

The new irons also have what Ben Hogan calls an enhanced V-Sole Technology, which has been a trademark of Hogan irons and wedges for years. It combines a high bounce leading edge and low bounce trailing edge on the sole and allows for easy manipulation of the club head no matter the lie without changing the loft.
In other words, these are the clubs you want to use if you really love shaping your shots. The bounce angles have also been re-engineered slightly on each club head to eliminate any club head ‘grab’ by the turf, especially on less-than-full shots.

Finally, the Ben Hogan PreciseLoft System has been simplified in the Ft. Worth BLACK irons. The irons will only be offered in one loft matrix (22 to 46-degrees), which is what’s preferred by the vast majority of Ben Hogan iron players.
