Foresight Sports is one of the leaders in launch monitor technologies. Indeed, their products can regularly be spotted on driving ranges and putting greens during competition events being utilized by the game’s best, as well as at the teaching studios of some of the best coaches across the world. And with Foresight’s newest technological development, it’s safe to assume that you might see Foresight—and Bushnell—products even more on the course this season.

Foresight GC3S Out on the Course

To help ensure you play your very best, Foresight has debuted LINK-Enabled Technology, an innovative product platform pairing launch monitor data with a laser rangefinder. Designed in collaboration with Bushnell Golf, the No.1 laser rangefinder in golf, LINK-Enabled Technology is a first-of-its-kind course management platform providing personalized “Play As” distances and specific club recommendations based on an individual golfer’s shot data collected through the launch monitor.

Data for Every Club in Your Bag,
Thanks to LINK-Enabled Technology

Chris Watters, Head of Commercial, Foresight Sports and Bushnell Golf, said:

“This is an eye-opening technological advancement for amateur golfers who don’t have regular access to caddies that can deliver expert course management advice. Everyone who’s used a laser rangefinder knows how to get a number, but they don’t always know how to use that information because that data has not been tailored to their actual performance, and knowing yardage to the pin is just one part of the club selection equation. LINK-Enabled technology takes guesswork and bravado out of choosing a club, building confidence by transforming a ranged distance into a club recommendation.”

Simply put, this is exactly what golfers who spend countless hours on their simulators want when they’re out on the course—verified information for each of the clubs in their bag so they can approach each shot on the course with confidence.

To integrate Foresight launch monitor data with the Bushnell app and laser rangefinder, an initial MyBag assessment is performed using a launch monitor and the Foresight app. The assessment consists of a range or simulator session where at least three shots are hit with each club in the bag to characterize the user’s performance & tendencies with their clubs. The Bushnell app pulls users’ completed MyBag data from the Foresight App and syncs that information with the Bushnell Laser Rangefinder when paired. On course, the laser rangefinder provides two club recommendations based on the yardage that has been ranged.

In addition to club recommendations via the laser rangefinder, patent-pending LINK-Enabled technology delivers enhanced course management advice:

  • Personalized Play As Distances: For the first time, the Play As Distances displayed in the Bushnell Golf laser rangefinder are based on individualized slope algorithms derived from the shot data collected during MyBag sessions. Previously, Play As yardages were calculated based on a generic trajectory model that was not tailored to each specific player.
  • Today’s Distances: Player’s “stock” yardages are adjusted based on the specific environmental conditions at the time and location they are playing. This feature is particularly useful for players who travel, play at different times of day, and don’t have the opportunity to gauge their distances before teeing off.
  • Club Dispersion Patterns: Users can view personalized club accuracy patterns overlaid on maps of golf holes within the Bushnell Golf app, providing clear visual indicators to guide club selection and course management decisions. This feature is available anytime, anywhere, so that golfers visiting new courses or wanting to visualize their shots pre-round can do so.
  • Club Recommendations: The laser rangefinder provides golfers with customized club recommendations for each shot.

The GC3S and LINK-Enabled bundle simplifies the presentation of launch monitor data, providing users with meaningful course management insight that does not require expert-level knowledge. Additionally, as the first Foresight Sports launch monitor to include a software subscription model, the GC3S offers a tour-validated launch monitor at a more accessible price point, making advanced golf technology available to a broader audience. That broader audience includes non-US markets, which are receiving access to a Foresight Sports-powered launch monitor with a subscription option for the first time.

Watters continued:

“With this integration, the information provided is based on the golfer’s data. Our push for innovation has always focused on helping golfers acquire the data they need to play better, no matter what level they are, and now Bushnell Golf is enabling us to transform that information into insight and on-course action through the LINK-Enabled platform.”

The Foresight Sports GC3S, including the Bushnell Golf Pro X3 LINK laser rangefinder, is available now for $3,799 MSRP. GC3S comes equipped with a software subscription, which includes ball & club data plus FSX Play simulator software and FSX Pro performance analysis software.
