Fortune Favors the Bold: Golfer Lucks Into Free Round at Legendary Course
As the old saying goes: it never hurts to ask.
Well, I guess it doesn’t apply here because Eric Creech didn’t even ask.
Creech, a “friendly, neighborhood PE teacher” from North Carolina according to his bio on X, did as many of us do and simply responded to a post he saw while scrolling.
My dream course to play one day https://t.co/ucMlrHFD7P

Little did he know that the social media team at Pinehurst No. 2, located about 90 minutes away from where Creech lives, was feeling generous when his response was viewed.
Hey, @ericomac15, dreams come true sometimes. What are you doing on Sunday, March 10? We have a spot for you and a guest of yours on Pinehurst No. 2 that day if you’d like it.
Yes, we’re serious. https://t.co/m2n4eA9Pt9

Understandably, Creech was floored with the response.
I am completely in shock.
Thank you @PinehurstResort for allowing me to live a dream.
The plan is for my Dad to join me. This is once in a lifetime, and I couldn’t be more grateful.

Pinehurst’s account posted that the round for Creech and his father is on the house, and a caddie will be provided. They said it’s a celebration of what golf can do, and they went on to encourage everyone to do something kind for someone today.
So pay it forward, and check in with Creech’s account on Sunday, March 10 to see how he does!
