Golf Betting: DraftKings is Now Officially the PGA’s DFS

Fantasy sports has grown beyond the annual fantasy football league. From Football to e-sports, if you want to bet on a single event, week or tournament you can do it. In an announcement Tuesday the PGA tour has officially announced DraftKings as their official Daily Fantasy Game, starting NOW! “The partnership with DraftKings provides the Tour with a unique opportunity to innovate in a new industry and to further engage our fans,” said Tour Senior Vice President of Media, Luis Goicouria.

In the official statement on the PGA Tours website they go on to detail some of the options that will be available. “The offerings include Classic contests where fans choose six players each week on the PGA TOUR for their fantasy team all while staying under the designated salary cap. Showdown contests are also available, which requires players to compile a team of six while staying under the designated salary cap for a single round of a tournament. Players have the option to compete with other PGA TOUR fans or in private, fully customizable contests with friends and colleagues.”.

According to DraftKings CBO Ezra Kucharz, golf is the fourth largest sport in terms of engagement on DraftKings. Its only beaten by the big three (NFL, NBA and MLB). The site paid out more than $450 Million dollars since they started. Fans can access PGA TOUR DraftKings Fantasy Golf on July 22, in time for the World Golf Championships-FedEx St. Jude Invitational.
