Henrik Stenson Named 2023 Europe Ryder Cup Captain

Henrik Stenson will be the Ryder Cup captain for Team Europe in the 2023 Ryder Cup in Rome, Italy.

Stenson said:

“I am absolutely thrilled and delighted to be the European Ryder Cup captain – it is a huge honor and I was humbled to get the call confirming the news… I would like to thank the selection panel for believing in me and will say to them, and every European golf fan, that I will do everything in my power and leave no stone unturned in the quest to get the Ryder Cup back in European hands.”

The five time Ryder Cup player boasts a record of 10-7-2 and also served as vice-captain of the 2020 Ryder Cup at Whistling Straights.

The 2016 Open Championship winner will be trying to lead his team to victory over the U.S. team lead by Zach Johnson.

The 2023 Ryder Cup will take place from Sept. 25-Oct. 1 at Marco Simone Golf & Country Club in Rome.
