Hole-Out Frenzy at Torrey Pines

Torrey Pines presented challenge last week, with long par 4s, tight fairways, shaggy rough, and all kinds of weather and wind changes.  Surprisingly enough, the course decided to take it easy on some of the boys by yielding an unprecedented 13 hole-outs, three of which were at a distance of 180 yards or further after the third round of play.  Amazingly, even more followed during a windy and rainy Round 4.

The Golf Gods we’re definitely making it rain ‘luck’ out there…

But not everyone had the lucky hand as Mickelson found himself in yet another odd location on the golf course which forced him to use the toe of a hybrid from underneath a metal fence.  I can see the #whereisphil hashtags beginning to re-trend.
