Leeds United was taken over by the United States 49ers earlier this year after Andrea Radrizanni cut ties with the club following a renegotiation after their relegation. The 49ers are an investment arm of the San Francisco 49ers, who have now gone from 44% holding to full control of the club. ‘Elland Road (the club’s home ground) is in dire need of restoration, and this is the primary job of the new owners once the checks and balances are approved.
We all know the fairytale story of Wrexham and Ryan Reynolds.

Here we see more involvement across sports as golfers explore their interests off the course. Spieth said he has been an avid watcher of Premier League soccer for years now, and after the relegation of Leeds to the Championship, he hopes to see Leeds United back to the top league in the UK before too long.
Spieth spoke to Sky Sports Golf, saying he was excited to be involved in a team he is ‘emotionally invested in,’ declaring that he and Justin Thomas are now officially minority investors in the club. Rickie Fowler was in the mix for a while, with Spieth explaining that Fowler pulled out after the side was relegated from the Premier League.
Spieth signed off by explaining that the 49ers find a way to beat his home team, the Dallas Cowboys, every year, so if you can’t beat them, join them!
Leeds fans will be excited to try and replicate Wrexham’s success in the coming years.
