Byron Nelson Championship: Jason Dufner Birdies 18 to claim 2nd PGA Victory this Year

Jason Dufner has made PGA Tour headlines, again.  After his first 2012 PGA Tour win at the Zurich Classic in New Orleans on April 29, Dufner took a week off to get married and came back to finish T68 with +7 at the 2012 Players Championship. In just four weeks since his win, Dufner reclaimed the top spot again this past weekend at TPC Four Seasons in Irving Texas.   This win catapulted Dufner to the top of the leaderboard of Fed Ex Cup Standings.

It was an exciting ending Sunday at the HP Byron Nelson Championship, with Dufner holding a one-stroke lead entering the fourth round before being  passed by J.J. Henry, who sank an impressive hole-in-one. (put link to that footage?)

Henry double-bogeyed 17 to drop to -9 and a stroke back of Dufner and Dicky Pride. After watching Henry blow up on 17, Dufner made a tap-in par and followed it up with huge drive on No. 18 in the middle of the fairway. He hit a wedge to the middle of the green and sank the 25 foot clutch birdie (video) to avoid the playoff with Dicky Pride.

Dufner had four rounds of consistent golf, shooting 67-66-69-67 to finish with a -11. He now has two tour victories and three top-10s and is tied with Hunter Mahan with most wins on PGA Tour this year, with two each.  He should be considered with the other favorites at the three remaining majors this year.
