John Daly’s Old Driver Still Has Pop

We know John Daly was one of the biggest hitters on tour back in the day. He could hit a ball 300 plus with equipment that was nowhere close to what we have now.

At some event that the lovely Tisha Alyn was at, the two brought out an old friend. They pulled out John’s Driver from the 91 PGA Championship (Daly won with a score of -12) to see what it could do on the sim.

To nobody’s surprise, Daly still has pop left in that driver.

Obviously, it’s not the same distance he has when he was 25, but he can still slap it out there a good bit. Tisha gave it a nice shot as well, with a smooth draw.

Videos like this make me realize just how good the legendary players of this game were. Imagine what Daly could do with today’s equipment if he was in his prime! Good thing we’ve got little John Daly not far behind.
