Justin Thomas Says There’s One Thing He’d Rather Have Than a FedEx Cup Playoff Berth
Justin Thomas has stated that he would rather make the Ryder Cup team than the FedEx Cup Playoffs.
JT has gone through a huge slump this season. After winning the 2022 PGA at Southern Hills, he backtracked to missed cuts, major disappointments, and overall, a poor standard of golf for the two-time Major winner.
We saw him fail to break 80 on Thursday at the Open Championship, and his mental and physical health were put up for debate.
He has bounced back this week at the Wyndham Championship with a Friday 65 and a 66 on Moving Day.
In a post-round interview, JT explained that given the choice, he’d rather make the Ryder Cup for Italy than feature at East Lake.

He’s on the cusp of making both but needs a solid performance today to cement his place in Georgia, as well as tipping the scales for captain Zach Johnson.
He’s not getting in on form, but he has a great record at Ryder Cups – and is almost an expected name on the team sheet, alongside good buddy Jordan Spieth, with whom he has had regular success.
The European team has increased in strength with good end-of-season performances from youngsters like Sepp Straka and Ludvig Aberg. It is set to be a great showdown, but will JT tee it up in Rome? Will we see him at East Lake? Can he pull off both?
