NBC is bringing a fan favorite of the PGA TOUR to the commentary booth in a new position this year.

Kevin Kisner will be NBC’s Lead Golf Analyst after spending some time in the booth as a color commentator last year, according to Sports Business Journal.

The PGA TOUR confirmed the move in a post on X:

Kisner is still eligible to play on the PGA TOUR and will play in Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy’s TGL Golf Simulator League in January, the report states.

Kisner said:

“I’m humbled and grateful to have the chance to sit in the seat that many legends like Johnny Miller and Paul Azinger have sat in before me on NBC. I’m looking forward to offering a different voice and adding a new dynamic to the broadcasts, hopefully reaching more fans and telling things like it is. That’s what I think I do best. I’m also excited to continue to compete on the PGA Tour amongst my peers, which I think will help me to tap into what these guys are really feeling on the course.”

NBC is looking for a more well-rounded commentary team as it bolstered the PGA TOUR Champions with Paul Azinger last month.

Commentary is a big part of the television viewership experience and will hopefully eliminate the drop in viewership felt by many networks.

Joey Klender is a reporter covering Equipment, Footwear, and Apparel. A huge golf fan, he calls a certain week in April his favorite of the year. Inspired by the likes of Woods, Palmer, McIlroy, and Koepka, Joey plays over 100 times a year in the South Central Pennsylvania area. When he isn't golfing, he is probably thinking about golfing, but he might be watching other sports, writing, or playing poker.
