As speculation around Greg Norman’s departure from LIV has been silenced, we find out today that Australia will be hosting LIV events, beginning in Adelaide in April 2023. The commitment is thought to span several years.

Golf Australia Magazine have reported that the first event will be shown from April 21st, with early bird tickets available from $35 AUD and three day passes available from $80 AUD. One of the clear benefits for Australia will be economic, a country that is still recovering from strict lockdown laws.

The Grange Golf Club will play host next April, with Australians Cam Smith, Marc Leishman and Matt Jones hopefully flying the flag for the home country. This allows fans to connect with the bigger names in the sport, including reigning Open Champion Smith.

The course also has a personal link for LIV Golf frontman Norman, who claimed his first professional victory there back in 1976. One thing that could hinder the event is that it is scheduled two weeks after the Masters, where some players may choose to remain in the States or take some time off after the first major of the calendar year.

The schedule for LIV in 2023 is yet to be confirmed, but we can expect 14 events and over $400 million in prizes, running from February to September.

The fans down under will certainly appreciate the calibre of golf heading their way, for a country that is so centered around sport, the LIV event should be very popular.
