MAIN COURSE: BURGERS & STEAK AT THE TURN?? // Turnberry Country Club
A BURGER AND STEAK SANDWICH AT THE TURN?? // TURNBERRY COUNTRY CLUB
No Description
I recently made a trip to check out Turnberry Golf club in Lakewood Illinois. Turnberry originally opened in 1972 and remained private for over 30 years. This beautifully maintained golf course has been the pride and joy of course superintendent Jim Evans and it shows. Turnberry sports a 6,900 yard, par 72 layout with a variety of elevation changes and mature trees paired with a potentially haunted barn. The great thing is that this course is now public!

Not only does this course have a competitive design that has hosted the Illinois State Amateur Championship, the Illinois Open, Mid-Amateur Qualifying and US Open Qualifying but it now has a Top Tracer range! $15 for 30 minutes or $30 for an hour, a golfer can work on their game in the covered bay, rain or shine, 365 days a year because I hear there are talks about adding heaters for the winter!

This is Main Course so let’s talk about food. Chef Pat Shull has been in the game for decades. His culinary experience has taken him from feeding the athletes on the WWE to cooking for some of the most powerful people in the United States government. We tried two unique dishes on this episode. An exotic burger as well as a steak sandwich that was mouth watering.
