MAIN COURSE: Episode 4 // Range Grill + Golf in Urbandale Iowa
When I visited Range Grill + Golf in Urbandale, IA I knew two things. I knew that I would be dealing with a friendly staff and I was going to get some solid midwestern American cuisine. I ordered their highly recommended Bison burger and to add a little bit of flair I opted for the Lobster Mac & Cheese instead of fries.
The burger is Grass-fed bison cooked to order topped with an aged cheddar blend, onion jam and a garlic aioli all served up on a toasted pretzel bun. Bison is a leaner meat than regular beef but its loaded with flavor. The toasted bun also appeared to have a little butter and salt on the top for a little something extra. The Lobster Mac & Cheese looked and smelled great. Freshly toasted breadcrumbs on the top made it look very appetizing. It was crazy hot when it came out. The combination of burger and pasta made an epic comfort food combo.

Range Signature Old Fashioned

Usually I drink my whisky neat or on the rocks, but when I found out they had a signature Old Fashioned I had to try it out. The range has a private barrel of Elijah Craig whisky just for them. What makes this drink a little more fun is that they have this mold that makes their ice come out in the shape of a golf ball. Instead of multiple chunks of ice you have the one large golf ball of ice.
How did the food and drink score? Check out the video to find out!
