Mammoth of a Par 3 Sitting at an Easy 251 Yards: Southern Hills Hole 8

You step up to the 8th tee at Southern Hills and you see the yardage sign of 251 yards, what are you going to hit? The players this week will be faced with quite the difficult task of getting the ball in the hole with less than 3 strokes taken. It is currently inside the top 5 hardest holes on the entire golf course.

Rory McIlroy carded a great round of 65, but even he gave up a shot on the treacherous 8th hole making a bogey, four. If players can make a par or better on this hole they will definitely have a slight edge on the field!

Amateur golfers have made great comments on this post from the PGA Tour on how they would attack the hole. Some said that they will hit 5 iron and channel their in Bryson Dechambeau to will the ball on the green.

Others admitted they would take the driver and attempt to hit it into the grandstand to get relief.

Honestly, not a bad play with the amount of relief that professional golfers are given to take advantage of the rules! Long-Drive Champion Kyle Berkshire simply said he would take 4-iron and three putt!

Berkshire is definitely a man of the people with the relatable 3-putt, however not many will be hitting 4 iron into this mammoth par 3!
