Matsuyama Assures Allegiance to PGA TOUR Ahead of ZoZo Championship
This week is a big week for Matsuyama as he is the defending champion of the ZoZo Championship, which Tiger Woods won the inaugural event in 2019. Hideki has been heavily tied to LIV Golf. However, this is what Matsuyama had to say through a translator:
“I’m fully committed to the PGA Tour, I’m a member of the PGA Tour… The players who left did so because they thought it was the right thing to do. So I can’t say anything about them. I am playing on the PGA Tour, and I want to continue doing my best.”

Hideki will be defending his title in his homeland of Japan this week while seeking his 9th win on the PGA Tour. Matsuyama showed solid form in his last round at the Fortinet Championship, firing a 65 on Sunday to finish T-25th.
He will be looking to improve on his solid 2021-2022 season, where he picked up two wins in three starts while finishing 11th in the FedEx Cup Points.
As it stands, the Masters Champion will continue to pursue the PGA Tour.
