Matt Wallace is Getting Ripped for Yelling At His Caddie

Young Englishman Matt Wallace has burst onto the scene this year as one of the up and comers in the world of golf. He has the most points on the European Tour and is looking like he’ll be in prime position to win the Race to Dubai.

Wallace has steadily climbed up the world rankings as well, where he currently sits at the No. 24 in the OWGR. But if Wallace has any weaknesses, it’s handling his emotions.

That poor temper control was on display this past weekend at the BMW International, where Wallace was caught berating his caddie on the 18th hole during the final round of the tournament.

It’s not like Wallace was doing bad either, as he ended up finishing T-3rd in the event. But that wasn’t good enough by Wallace’s standards, leading him to take out his frustration on his caddie.

Many players and analysts have bashed Wallace for this move but it honestly shouldn’t come as a huge shock, as his temper has been seen at multiple events this year.

Outside of the BMW Championship, Wallace was also caught tossing his putter at the U.S. Open and flipping his hat backward after bad shots. This last event is really what has people fired up, however, and forced him to issue an apology.

It’s become a sad trend in golf recently to see so many of its best players express frustration so openly. Jordan Spieth was also seen berating his caddie earlier in the year and caught a lot of criticism for that incident. Further, Bryson DeChambeau and Sergio Garcia were also criticized for damaging the courses they were playing on after their poor play.

It’s one thing to be intense on the golf course but it’s another to end up acting like a child. Wallace has been a major part of this problem so hopefully he and the other players that have shown their anger on the course this year will be able to control their emotions moving forward.
