Japan’s Miss Universe Contestant is Also a Stud Golfer
There are many beautiful women that play golf both professionally and as amateurs but how many of them can claim that they were a Miss Universe contestant? Perhaps the only person in that category would be Japan’s Momoko Abe.
Ms. Abe competed most recently in the Miss Universe pageant representing her home country of Japan. She wasn’t able to win the competition, unfortunately, despite winning the contest for best costume.
She may not have taken home the crown but Momoko has a back-up plan….she happens to be a pretty darn good golfer as well.
It was recently revealed that Ms. Abe is actually a very good amateur golfer over in her home country, and after some investigating you’ll find that her instagram account is filled with posts about her golf exploits.
Abe is even sponsored by a golf clothing brand called Kiss On The Green. And she has earned that endorsement through some great golf play.
For reference on how good of a golfer she is, Ms. Abe recently met with the Prime Minster of Japan, Shinzo Abe. The two have no relation but do share a love for golf. Mr. Abe most recently hit the news cycle because he embarrassingly fell into a bunker during a round with President Trump, but Abe isn’t a bad golfer himself. He bragged to Momoko that his lowest score was a 78. But she has the Prime Minister beat, with her own low score of 68.
With such an unique talent to share with the world, it may come as a surprise that Abe wasn’t able to crack the top 16 finalists in the Miss Universe competition. But apparently, the rules for Miss Universe are different than Miss America where there is no talent competition.
If she were able to show off that pretty golf swing along with her looks and smarts (she has a degree in philosophy), Momoko would have been a lock for the title.
Even though the official record doesn’t reflect it Abe is the winner in my book. And now that her beauty contestant phase in her life is over, we wish her the best on her golf game going forward.
