NEW YEAR, NEW TOMMY: Is Tommy ‘Two-Gloves’ Back?
Tommy Gainey secured the win at The Bahamas Great Exuma Classic with an impressive 11 under par performance. Saying Tommy has been on a downward spiral before this would be an understatement.
Here are his stats the last 61 events before this: 40 Missed Cuts, 0 Top 10’s and 1 Arrest.
The guy has been playing like me out on the course and acting like Charlie Sheen in his free time. But hey, who doesn’t love a good comeback story? His arrest for his part in the prostitution sting (which they called “Operation Santa’s Naughty List“) was only a month ago, but maybe that whole incident changed Tommy for the better?

The announcers on the Golf Channel continued to dance around the arrest story, ignoring it at all costs throughout the entire tournament. Even when he was the front runner and eventual winner, they didn’t touch upon the subject once. I have to give them credit, Tommy Two Gloves and prostitution jokes are low hanging fruit at this point, but I mean you have to mention it, right?
Here is what Tommy had to say after his win;
“With the injuries that I’ve been through, the other troubles that I’ve had, I’m very lucky and very blessed,” Gainey said. “This means everything.”
I’m rooting for you Tommy, keep winning until the Golf Channel announcers have no choice but to crack a quick “No Glove, No Love” on the broadcast.
