Oklahoma TV Station Spares No Expense to Cover Tiger Woods Practicing at Southern Hills
No matter how many tournaments Scottie Scheffler wins during this hot streak, he’ll only be a blip on the mainstream sports radar compared to Tiger Woods.
That’s just the way these pop culture things go.
But even given the vast coverage that Woods received up to and during his return at the Masters last month, an Oklahoma TV station is taking “Tiger Watch” to a new level.

KOTV, the CBS affiliate in Tulsa, Oklahoma, dispatched its helicopter to catch a glimpse of Woods playing a practice round at Southern Hills, which is the home of the PGA Championship later this month.
From this video, we have discerned that Woods is taking some practice putts.
There’s not much after that, leading to speculation that someone had shooed the chopper away–or maybe it was headed to a car chase or traffic backup for that evening’s newscast.

As for Woods, he hasn’t yet committed to the PGA Championship or the U.S. Open, but he did state his intention to play in the Open Championship in St. Andrew’s.
In his first tournament, after shattering part of his leg in a February 2021 auto accident, Woods shot a 1-under 71 in the opening round but faltered a bit to a 47th-place finish at +13.
