OLYMPICS: Rory McIlroy Pictured with Scotty Cameron Putter
If you’re just getting into the game, and maybe haven’t followed the PGA Tour for very long, I’ll let you in on a little secret. Those tournaments that Rory won by 10 shots back in the day – he was putting with a Scotty. Many people around golf actually believe Rory’s struggles on the greens began when that club left his bag for Nike, then of course TaylorMade.
Let’s go back to 2011. US Open. Congressional. Rory would win by 8 (!!).

The putter in his bag? A nice little Scotty Cameron. Actually at that time, Rory was Titleist through the bag.
Fastfoward to 2021. Rory McIlroy is representing Ireland in the Olympics and has been a TaylorMade player for the past 4 years. So what is he doing with a Scotty?

I would love to say this is just an experiment. But in the second picture of the IG post above from Jonathan Wall, “RORS” is carved into the blade.
As a lifelong Rory fan, man do I hope to see that putter in the bag tonight when he tees off for the first round of the Olympics.
