Phil Mickelson’s Mizzen+Main Ad Has the Entire Internet Laughing

Everyone already knows about Phil Mickelson’s fun-loving, humorous personality that he displays on the golf course. But now, it looks like Mickelson is taking it to a whole new level.

Lefty picked up a sponsorship earlier this year from Mizzen+Main, deciding to rock their stylish, breathable button downs. He unveiled one of the shirts for the first time in a practice round with Tiger Woods before The Masters and the button down “work shirt” has been met with mixed reviews from fans.

Flash forward to this week when Mizzen+Main decided to put out their first TV spot featuring Mickelson’s fun-loving persona. The video shows Mickelson busting out some dance moves that would make any dorky dad proud while also doing his best Matrix impression, dodging golf balls hit in his direction.

The ad is intended to show how flexible the dress shirt but Lefty is the real star of this clip.

Despite the jokes and the jabs that have come at Lefty for embracing the new sponsor, he’s been more than happy to take on the role. “I think nobody does kind of slightly overweight middle-aged guy better than me, and this says exactly who I am,” said Mickelson. “It says that if you can play golf at the highest level, imagine how comfortable it is in the office.”

Phil carries several different sponsors from his years as a dominant force on the PGA TOUR but the five-time major champion may have even more in stake with Mizzen+Main. According to his deal, it appears that he received an undisclosed ownership stake in the company. So not only is he doing it for a sponsor but for a company he believes in.

As fun as it is to watch Phil have fun on TV, we really hope that he’s able to have fun on the golf course this year as well. Hopefully, he’ll be able to put together some strong performances to end the season in his breathable dress attire.
