Poulter Doubles Down on Pursuing Legal Action: ‘I Had No Choice’

Poulter doubles down on his decision to pursue legal action against the DP World Tour, forcing their hand to allow him to play in the Scottish Open.

Arms folded, scowl on his face, the Postman spoke to the media today, justifying his actions.

Poulter said that he didn’t have any other choice, but then some of us are left scratching our heads. He could have just not played.

The main message projected from the LIV defectors is that joining the LIV Series allows them more time with their family and away from the hectic, stressful life of being paid millions to play golf.

I’m not sure how much longer the schedule-based comments will last, now it turns out Poulter is fighting to get into this week’s event with all his might, and Patrick Reed attempted to pull at the heartstrings by saying he watched his kids grow up on Facetime and yet has played an average of 30.5 tournaments a season with absolutely no obligation to do so.

All eyes will be on Poulter and the two other LIV signings, Harding and Otaegui, at this week’s Scottish Open. Requiring a court injunction to tee it up is pretty unique territory, and should be enough ammunition for a good performance!

Patrick joined us in May 2022 with a strong passion for the game and a writing style to match. He is a good golfer, originally from Cumbria in the UK, and now living in British Columbia, Canada. He focuses on writing opinion pieces while keeping up to date with LIV Golf, Tour events and Major championships, providing good insights into the professional game. His best golf memories are shooting 72 with a double on 18, running the Golf Society at Lancaster University, and steering them to the first ever Varsity win against rivals York. His favorite club is his Scotty Cameron Newport 2.0, and his favorite event is the Masters!
