Practice Makes Perfect! 91-Year-Old Records His First Hole-in-One
If you’re anything like me and your great hole-in-one stories start with “One time, my friend…” or “One time, my father…,” don’t despair!
Willie Clinton serves as inspiration for all of us that our time to join the “ace club” could be right around the corner.
Clinton, 91, was playing the par -3 11th at Forrest Little Golf Club in Dublin, Ireland. It’s a hefty poke at 174 yards (but we don’t know the yardage from the box Clinton teed off on).
When his party walked (yes, Clinton appears to be walking this course in cold weather!) up to the green, his party noticed there was no ball on the green, so someone started recording on his phone.
Huge congrats to Willie Clinton, who, at 91, had his first ever hole – in – one at the 11th last weekend. pic.twitter.com/vUPnjEb2QZ

The course’s X (formerly Twitter) account posted the video that Clinton’s party took as he discovered his achievement.
While a lot of what we’ve written about this year has been about millionaires squabbling about billions at stake in the professional game and what that will look like in 2024 and beyond, leave it to a golfer in his 90s to remind us the joy that can be had from this game – on the week of Christmas, no less.
