From Selfie Sticks to Tears, Rickie Fowler Gets Emotional
Rickie Fowler is arguably my favorite golfer currently on TOUR. He’s cool, confident, stylish, and the ladies love him.
As you probably already know, Rickie suffered a heartbreaking defeat at last week’s WM Phoenix Open which began with fun and games and entertaining the crowd on the 16th hole before a crushing playoff blow which led to a tearful press conference.
Before the crushing blow on Sunday, Rickie had some fun with the selfie stick live on PGA LIVE before hitting a laser into the 16th green. Rickie is by far one of the best ambassadors of the game and he’s loved by all fans young and old, including both men and women all across the world.

At his post tournament press conference, Rickie broke down in tears talking about his loss and how he’s never had a chance to win (6 total career wins) in front of his grandpa or his father. He was quoted saying, “...my grandpa and my dad, who haven’t seen me win. So…but I’ll be able to hang with them tonight, so I’ll be alright but with how good I’m playing, I know I can win, so that’s the hard part.”
We’re hoping this kid goes on to win a major this season and his father is standing beside the 18th green when he does. It would be well deserved for someone who gives so much to helping this game grow. Hang in there Rickie, we’re sure you’ve a got a couple of wins left in you this season.
