Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods contracted Covid days before the 150th Open, it has been revealed.

Following the resounding success of the JP MacManus pro-am at future Ryder Cup venue Adare Manor, Rory told Paul Kimmage that he may have actually given Woods the virus, due to them being paired together.

The two superstars teed up at Ballybunion Golf Club, which was being shared all over the golf World as locals and members took to the course to grab a glimpse of the duo.

Rory revealed that he texted Tiger of his new ill symptoms later that day, where the 15 time major champion replied with signs of chills and fever.

“I’ve just given Tiger COVID! This is horrendous!’ So we both had COVID going into The Open.” Rory reported that he also had no sense of taste throughout the Open week at St Andrews.

The illness did not affect his game, however, with a stellar display of golf that only missed out on Claret Jug honors due to a blistering Sunday from recent Australian PGA Champion, Cameron Smith.

Giving Tiger Covid might have been a fantastic strategy in the 2000s when he was running rampage.
