SHOTS FIRED: Nick Faldo Comes at Struggling Rickie Fowler

I love this. This should happen more in golf media.

Let’s get in the mix, in the mud. Fire shots when you can. And that’s exactly what Nick did.

Rickie has been really struggling of late (although his last start was a T20 in LA). He missed his first start in a WGC in 10 years at Concession, and is now in jeopardy of missing the Masters. He has fallen all the way down to 65th in the world.

Rickie has had success at Bay Hill in the past, with 3 Top 20s in his last 4 starts at the API. Many fans think of Rickie as one of the young guys on TOUR, but he’s already 32 with just 5 wins to his name. Historically, you could argue Collin Morikawa is already better than Fowler (me, I would argue that).

Many of the comments on Twitter are coming at Nick for having 10s of sponsors, including the shoe that will increase distance. But, in my opinion, the guy has 6 (!!) majors, he can promote anything he wants.

I like Rickie, I’d even call myself a fan, so I hope he gets it back on track.

I grew up in southern New Hampshire, where I first fell in love with the game of golf. I started by just going out and messing around with my buddies and focusing purely on having a good time! I never took golf seriously until I moved down to Tampa, FL to attend the University of South Florida. Go Bulls! At the start of my junior year I got a job working as a cart boy at a local private country club. This is when I started to focus on golf becoming my career. During the fall of my senior year, I turned from a 14 handicap, to a 2. I passed the PAT scoring test my first try and haven't looked back.
