TEE TIMES: Farmers Insurance Open First and Second Round

Patrick Reed will be looking to defend his title as the Farmers Insurance Open kicks off on a rare Wednesday instead of the normal Thursday opening round. The tournament will run from Wednesday until Saturday as opposed to the regular Thursday to Sunday as the AFC and NFC Championship games will be taking center stage Sunday this week.

Reed’s 9th PGA TOUR win at the event last year did not come without controversy as this was where he received free relief over an embedded ball that was questionable.

The Farmers Insurance Open takes place at the historic Torrey Pines South Course, that has hosted many U.S. Open’s including the 2021 U.S. Open, along with the North Course. Saturday and Sunday’s rounds will both strictly be on the South Course.

Six out of the top 10 players in the world will be playing this week. Jon Rahm, Dustin Johnson, Justin Thomas, Xander Schauffele, Bryson DeChambeau and Hideki Matsuyama.

Rahm also won at the Torrey Pines South Course in 2021 at the U.S. Open, where the course played differently with longer rough and tougher conditions.
