Tommy Fleetwood’s Caddie Reveals Reason for Missing The Masters

Tommy Fleetwood’s caddie, Ian Finnis, had to undergo heart surgery earlier this week and is resting in the hopes of returning to Fleetwood’s bag in the future.

Finnis was unavailable for the Masters, citing a chest infection, which meant Tommy had to enlist the services of local caddie Gray Moore, who began working at Augusta National in 1996 and is nicknamed “Mr Augusta.”

Moore had experience with others who have competed at the iconic course, including Tom Watson, who enlisted his services in 2004. He added Fleetwood’s T3 finish to his resume and pocketed a healthy sum for the week, likely upwards of $80,000.

In an Instagram post, Finnis wrote:

“Open heart surgery done! Massive thanks to all the NHS staff. The road to recovery has started. Thanks for all the love.”

Fino’ and Tommy have been together for over six years, capturing multiple DP World Tour titles and multiple Ryder Cups.

Fleetwood himself took on caddying duties during last week’s UAE Challenge at Saadiyat Beach Golf Club in Abu Dhabi, where he carried for his 17-year-old stepson Oscar Craig, who managed to make the cut in the Challenge Tour event.
