Fan favorite Tony Finau is getting sued by a former business associate and the number just doesn’t make sense.

According to Adam Woodward of golf week, a former business partner Molonai Hola who helped out Finau early in his career is looking for some payback.

The lawsuit filed last week in Utah is asking for $16 million in damages! So much did they float Finau to get started? Allegedly it was $592,371.37 according to the suit.

I’m not a math guy (not even close) but how the hell does $592,371.37 turn into $16 million? I know they are looking for 20 percent interest on the expenses but damn, $16 million?!

I don’t know anything beyond this but I’m sure this won’t end with Finau writing a check with the memo line reading “my bad.” Nonetheless it will be interesting to see how this plays out.
