TOUR RUMORS: TaylorMade Also Cutting Ties With Jason Day
Last week we reported on the Tour Rumor that Tommy Fleetwood would be joining Team TaylorMade, while No. 2 in the World Jon Rahm would be leaving and joining Callaway.
While Callaway hasn’t confirmed Rahm joining their Tour Staff, TaylorMade confirmed yesterday that Fleetwood is officially a TaylorMade staffer.

However, TaylorMade appears to subtly be hinting at the fact that Rahm isn’t the only person who won’t be around in 2021.

As is becoming an annual holiday tradition, TaylorMade posted its 2020 Christmas card earlier today. Following up on yesterday’s announcement, Fleetwood is centerfold between Rory and Tiger. However, noticeably absent from the photo is Jason Day.
Jason Day has been a part of Team TaylorMade since 2006, and eventually climbed to the No. 1 ranked position in 2015 and maintained it for a total of 51 weeks. The Australian has, unfortunately, struggled with his game in years recent, including a winless season in 2017 and health issues in early 2019.
Day is currently ranked No. 43 in the World, and had a moderately successful November 2020 with a T12 finish in The RSM Classic and T7 in the Vivint Houston Open. Arguably, the 33 year old has plenty of top tier golf left in the tank, so it’ll be very interesting to see if he’s officially parting ways with an equipment sponsor he’s been affiliated with for almost 15 years.
