TRAVEL: The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club Orlando, Grande Lakes
If you’re anything like me, when you watch golf on TV you imagine playing there in your mind.
You imagine yourself hitting the same iconic shots that you watched happen live on TV.
For me, that was able to come to a reality this past summer with The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club Orlando, Grande Lakes.

Now don’t get me wrong, before watching the PNC Championship last year I never would have seen the course or imagined playing it but I am so glad that I did.
The Championship golf course is a Greg Norman design that opened in 2003. The par 72, 7100 yard course has Bermudagrass fairways that get overseeded with Perennial ryegrass and have Tifeagle Bermudagrass greens.
As soon as you arrive on property you feel like a member for the day. The men’s locker room has the name plates up year round with the names of the players who played in the PNC Championship the year prior which is a really cool touch.
The pro shop, which is very important to me and all of the other golf course logo apparel fans out there, was fully stocked and had many different options making it very difficult to decide what to purchase.

Once you pick up your fully loaded golf cart filled with complimentary water bottles, golf tees, and towels to dry your sweat, you can hit the large driving range and putting green before making your way to the first tee.
While out on the course, you notice how well maintained and cared after the course really is.
The tee boxes were in great shape, the fairways were plush and perfect, the bunkers were raked perfectly, and the greens were firm and fast. Everything you would expect in a championship golf course.
The holes were not too challenging which allowed for us to really enjoy ourselves while also playing some good golf. It’s always a fun and special time playing on a golf course where the games legends such as Arnold Palmer, Gary Player, Lee Trevino, and Tiger Woods, just to name a few, have played.

Out of all of the courses I played while in the Orlando area it was my second favorite course to play, only behind Arnold Palmer’s Bay Hill Club and Lodge.
An added bonus if you are considering playing on a family vacation, children up to the age of 17 play for free with each paid adult round of golf.
Definitely consider adding The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club to your next buddies golf trip or weekend getaway in the Orlando/Grande Lakes area of Florida!
