Twitter Account Linked to Patrick Reed Accuses PGA of Favoritism Over Recent “Embarrassing” Post
The Twitter account (@useGolfFACTS), which has often tweeted support for Patrick Reed, has pinned a tweet blasting the PGA for what they view as ‘embarrassing’ treatment of one of the game’s stars, Tiger Woods.
Tiger Woods returned to the tour at the Masters in April, 13 months removed from the car crash that nearly cost him his life. Now, Tiger has arrived at Southern Hills weeks ahead of the rest of the tour and appears to be getting notes from course Director of Golf Cary Cozby.
I wonder what it’s like to have the Director of Golf at Southern Hills give you ALL the course notes you need for the upcoming @PGAChampionship Do all players get this treatment @PGA? For @TigerWoods this is just embarrassing that @PGA posted this photo & it’s very telling. pic.twitter.com/TAf3siYsHO

This Twitter account, allegedly run by Reed’s wife Justine, took issue with Woods getting course notes ahead of the upcoming PGA Championship. The tweet tagged the event, the tour, and even Woods, calling the special treatment ‘embarrassing.’ The photo shows Woods and the director together, reviewing some sort of notepad with Cozby holding Tiger’s famous headcover.
The account clearly takes issue with Woods getting a sneak preview of sorts at the course and what they view as special treatment for one of the tour’s favorites. Meanwhile, Patrick Reed finished tied for 42nd at the Mexico Open at Vidanta last week after finishing with a less than stellar final-round 75.

Reed’s official Twitter account (@PReedGolf) has been predictably quiet on the matter, with his most recent tweet indicating his excitement for the upcoming Wells Fargo Championship. Woods has won the upcoming Major four times in his career, with the last coming in 2007 at the same Southern Hills course, so it seems like a formality that he will be competing once again later this month.
Phil Mickelson has also indicated that he will return to the tour circuit to defend his title, so storylines will abound for this upcoming major. If Tiger performs well, there could be a firestorm of hot takes claiming this ‘special treatment’ and favoritism as the primary reason.

So an account linked to the wife of a repeat cheater on the pga is complaining about someone using their resources properly. it’s a major. shit I’d be playing that course everyday in every possible condition and asking 1000 question and getting advice from the grounds crew, club pro, and whomever I could ask. it’s not favoritism it’s just smart.
