Two LIV defectors have returned to the DP World Tour after just one appearance in the rival LIV series.

According to Golf Monthly, South African Oliver Bekker and Spaniard Pablo Larrazabal are set to return this week to participate in the Horizon Irish Open, alongside recent US Open champion Matt Fitzpatrick, SU Senior Open champion Padraig Harrington, and 2019 Open champion Shane Lowry.

Bekker had secured over $650,000 for his efforts earlier this month at the Centurion Club in Hertfordshire, and Larrazabal notched $360,000 at the first LIV event.

This is where we see more high-profile names moving over to the LIV Tour, so due to the limited field numbers, lower-ranked players will instead prefer to compete on the DP World Tour instead.

But maybe a genius move?

Bekker is yet to win on one of the global Tours, and Larrazabal gained more financially by coming 13th in the first  LIV event than he did for two of his seven Tour wins to date.

Play once, secure a quick buck, then return apologetically to the global Tour and grind out some good golf.

We may see this happen more frequently as LIV defectors become tired of the media morality line of questioning and the uproar caused, or perhaps just want to play on the global Tours after the announcement earlier today, where the Strategic Alliance between the DP World Tour and the PGA Tour has been strengthened.

Either way, we are seeing two competitive players return to the DP World Tour after their brief fling with Greg Norman’s rival set-up.
