VIDEO GAMES: PGA TOUR 2K21 Coming Soon, Gamers!

Wow. What a sight for sore eyes PGA TOUR and 2K21 next to each other are. A day ago if I saw this, I would have thought it was a fictional mock up, but here we are. The verified @PGATOUR2K twitter account put out a trailer for the game on the iconic 17th Tee at TPC Sawgrass, and it looked so damn good (except for the fact that the player had a ball teed up like they’d have driver in hand on the 137 yard hole).

The game will be produced by HB Studios, who are the creators of The Golf Club 2019. If I’m being honest, that game is fun to play for about one round, but the lack of access to real TOUR players and the lack of real golf courses you can play in the career mode make the game stale after a while.

It did have a lot of promise with the design a course feature that resulted in a bunch of fans with way too much time on their hands making some iconic courses like Augusta National and Bethpage Black for everyone to play. 

The twitter accounts bio reads “#PGATOUR2K21 is coming soon! Stay tuned for full details on 5/14.” It’ll be interested to see what 2K can do with this franchise.

If they can get players rights and I can tee it up with anyone on TOUR, or create the next Tiger Woods that can compete at every venue on TOUR against all the stars throughout a season, this game has loads of potential. If there’s one publisher that can get it done, it’s 2K Sports. 

If I had to guess a release date before they give us any more information, I would have to guess either before the PGA Championship in August, or more realistically some time around the Holidays before the season tees off.
