Four Major Championships, two PGA Tour Leading Money Winner Awards, three FedEx Cup Championships, and four Byron Nelson Awards. Those are all the things that came before Rory McIlroy’s first-ever Hole-in-One on the PGA Tour.

The first ace in McIlroy’s historic PGA Career would not elude him forever. After turning pro in 2007, and being the face of golf ever since then (for the most part, at least), McIlroy has been decorated with honors that 99.99999999% of people can only dream about.

However, a Hole-in-One was always missing from his resume.

According to ESPN, McIlroy played 3,253 Par-3s over his career until the first one fell in after a single swing.

It came on the 214-yard Par-3 8th hole at TPC River Highlands, and his grouping of Tom Kim and Viktor Hovland were more than ecstatic to congratulate the Northern Irishman.

McIlroy finished the day at -2, eight of the lead of Denny McCarthy.
