Wife of the Year Steps Up and Caddies her Husband to His Best Web.com Tour Showing Ever
There’s the old saying that behind every great man is a great woman. While that is a popular saying for all successful men in the world, it was seen in action this past weekend on the golf course.
Justin Hueber plays as a conditional player on the Web.com Tour and had never finished in the top four of any Tour event in his career. That all changed last weekend when Hueber finished T4th at the Air Capital Classic Supporting Wichita’s Youth. The finish put him at 70th on the money list and guaranteed him a spot on the Tour for the rest of the season.
“Just a little positive voice in my head”
The single biggest reason that Hueber was able to accomplish this feat was because of his wife, Sarah. In the weeks prior, Hueber missed an event as the fourth alternate and barely missed qualifying for the U.S. Open. Following these defeats, Hueber was considering staying home instead of attempting to qualify for the Air Capital Classic. Sarah encouraged him to go, however, and everything took off from there.
Journey to better.

Sarah even took her encouragement to the next step, actually caddying for her husband during the event. It was the first time this season that Sarah was able to caddie for Justin and with her at his side, not only did he finish with the lowest overall score of his professional career, he also carded his lowest round ever as a professional, closing out his tournament with a six-under 64.
While Mrs. Hueber isn’t as strong at helping out her husband with measurements and lines, Justin is thankful for the other effect she has on him. “Just a little positive voice in my head,” Hueber said of his wife, “It’s nice to have a normal caddie too, who helps you with the golf stuff and everything, but it’s also nice to get a break from that and just have someone there to cheer you on.”
So while Hueber will likely go back to a normal caddie for most of his events this season, he may want to consider having his wife carry his bag a few more times before the end of 2017.
