WITB: Will Zalatoris’ FedEx St. Jude Championship Winning Setup

Will Zalatoris has consistently been finding his way to the top of high stakes, high-pressure golf tournaments, including a 6th place finish at the 2020 U.S. Open (Winged Foot) and 2nd place finish at the 2021 Masters, so we knew it was a matter of time until he secured a PGA TOUR win.  But nobody could’ve predicted that Zalatoris’ first TOUR victory would be in the FedEx Cup Playoffs.

In a truly thrilling, three-playoff hole victory over Sepp Straka, Zalatoris was able to close after taking a drop from a ball bounced and eventually came to rest on the rocks, narrowly missing the water hazard.  So let’s take a deeper dive into Zalatoris’ bag to see what helped power him through the 75 holes of golf this past weekend.

Starting at the top is some of Titleist’s all new TSR metalwoods, specifically its TSR3 driver (8.0° with a Fujikura Speeder TR 661 X shaft) and TSR2+ 3-wood (13° with a Fujikura Ventus TR Blue 8 X) shaft.  It’s worth noting that this is the TSR has gotten off a red hot start since Titleist released it for TOUR Validation at the end of June 2022, including J.T. Poston winning with a TSR3 just 2-weeks after its debut at the John Deere Classic and Cameron Smith winning at the Open Championship.

Supporting Zalatoris’ metalwoods is a combination of T-Series irons, specifically a T200 3-iron (20° with Nippon N.S. Pro Modus3) and T100 irons (4 through PW with True Temper Dynamic Gold Tour Issue X100s), and Vokey wedges, including the new SM9s in 50° (F Bounce with 8° bounce) and 54° (bent to 55° with S Grind and 10° of bounce) and the WedgeWorks Proto in 60° (T Grind), with each wedge paired with True Temper Dynamic Gold Tour Issue X100 shafts.

Each of the foregoing clubs are equipped with Golf Pride’s ZGRIP Cord.

Making sure the Titleist Pro V1 finds the bottom of the cup is a Scotty Cameron Phantom X T11 prototype with a SuperStroke Traxion Tour putter grip.
