WOW: Bryson Bombs a 46 Yard Drive on the 10th in Weird Second Round Effort
Well, it turns out that Bryson DeChambeau, the PGA TOUR’s longest driver, is human after all.
DeChambeau, who has exploded onto the scene as of late with his “I can reach the green from anywhere” attitude, did indeed smoke a drive onto the green, the practice green to be exact, on the 10th yesterday in his match with Si-Woo Kim.
When DeChambeau stepped up to the tee on the 10th, he had one thing in mind, to drive the green. He picked an aggressive line, and went for it. As you can see, it didn’t quite go as he had planned.

Bryson on his “46-yard drive to unknown” on 10: He clipped the tree in front of him and his ball shot straight sideways. Wound up near the practice putting green.

DeChambeau caught the ball a little heely, and low on the face. Instead of popping up over the trees as he’d envisioned, it struck a tree and landed on the practice green. A grand total of 46 yards.
“I could have easily cleared the trees up and over like I wanted to, but I hit it on the wrong part of the face and consequently hit the tree limb — hey, look, I was trying to drive the green, whether it was the practice green or the 10th green. I got it close.” Dechambeau said in an interview after completing the round with a win.
Guess the protein shakes didn’t help him much on this one. Rest assured, however, that DeChambeau won’t hit many drives like that again, he is, of course, one of the best in the world.
Bryson is set to tee off for his third round matchup today at 11:04 am ET against Tommy Fleetwood.
