For those of you taking advantage of our Fantasy Odds and Predictions every week, go pat yourself on the back.

We chose Spieth as part of our Top 5 Picks to Win the John Deere Classic segment and we’re certainly glad we did!  We also picked two other top-10 finishers Sunday as Zach Johnson (T2) and Steve Stricker (T10) almost continued to make history at TPC Deere Run.Spieth, 19, became the youngest player to win a PGA Tour event in 82 years.

Ending in a  hard-fought, five-hole, sudden-death playoff; the win over defending champion Zach Johnson and David Hearn, earned Spieth $828,000, a two-year exmeption on the PGA TOUR, an entry to the British Open and a jump to 11th place on the FedExCup standings.

Spieth sealed the win by holing out a 26-inch putt on the 18th green, the fifth playoff hole after masterfully punching his approach out of the right fairway rough with trees and spectators all around.

“I was just so lucky,” said Spieth, who notched five top-10 finishes this season. “That’s what it was.”

Jordan started the final round six shots back and bogeyed the first hole, but he birdied five of the last six and it was the last one that really counted. On 18, Spieth stroked a 44-foot bunker shot that took one bounce, hit the pin and dropped into the hole, earning him a spot in the sudden death playoff.

When asked about the shot post round Speith noted that the fact that it went in was “extremely fortunate.”
