2025 Masters: What’s New at Augusta National Golf Club
The 2025 Masters has officially arrived, and there are a few big changes that Augusta National Golf Club has made to the site of the 89th edition of the first Major Championship of the year.
Here’s what will be a little bit different this year as Masters Week is officially underway:
Augusta National Has a New Look
Due to the destruction of Hurricane Helene, Augusta National looks slightly different, as many trees were either knocked down or removed as a result of the storm and subsequent cleanup.
Back in 2024, Augusta National Chairman Fred Ridley said The 2025 Masters would take place on time, and it sure is. However, the landscape of the course has changed slightly.
Golf Digest did a wonderful piece comparing holes before and after the storm, which you can read here. Here are a few images of the course since the trees have been removed, with the “before” image being on the bottom:
10th Hole

13th Hole

16th Hole

As you can see, several areas of the course have thinned out in terms of trees. While it’s not a significant change for some of these holes, as 13 and 16 specifically to mind, as these wooded areas are basically never in play, it surely is a slightly different landscape than what we’ve seen in past years.
A New Food Item – Tomato Pie
Augusta National is rolling out what it calls a “limited debut” of the new Tomato Pie. Some have said it looks like an empanada, and some have said it’s a “Boujee Hot Pocket.”
What we do know is, like all the other food at The Masters, it will be cheap (just $3), and while supplies last, it will offer a fresh flavor for the spectators as they have access to all the classics like Pimento Cheese, Masters Clubs, and Egg Salad:

21 New Faces as First-Timers Arrive at AGNC
Twenty-one new faces will have the opportunity to do something that has not been done since Fuzzy Zoeller arrived at Augusta National for the first time in 1979: win a Green Jacket in your debut. Jordan Spieth came close in 2014, Ludvig Åberg did the same last year, but nobody has done it in nearly 50 years.
