24 Hours of Mini Golf: A New Guinness World Record Has Been Shattered

The previous Guinness World Record was at 1,440 holes of mini golf played in 24 hours by a foursome. However, that record was shattered by four men: Cole Hetzel, Chris Hetzel, Tony Centers, and Bob Schoettinger, who played at Putt-Putt Fun Center of Erlanger Kentucky. 

More than a Record

The men started their quest for the new record at 8 am Sunday. They not only were competing for a record but raising money for disaster relief and humanitarian aid through a charity named “Matthew 25.”

Results

Team Hetzel and friends were able to finish a staggering 2,097 holes in 24 hours. The foursome was able to break the record at about 1045pm on Sunday while still having about 9 hours on the clock to set the bar high. Team Hetzel and friends were able to do exactly that by completing a staggering 2,097 holes in 24 hours. That is 116.5 rounds of mini golf which roughly equates to 4.8 rounds per hour completed within the time frame, not to mention any breaks they may have taken.

It was all hugs and cheers from the new world record holders and supporters. The whole event was recorded on camera, and scores were documented by hand to have Guinness World Records verify the new world record as they review it. 

According to the Guinness World Records website, it can take up to 12 weeks for records to be verified unless a priority evidence review is bought which will speed up the process to less than a week. Seems that the new world record holders have nothing to worry about since they beat it by 657 holes!
