Let’s put something into perspective. The Tour average for GIR (Green in regulation) is 11.17 greens per round. The typical weekend golfer might average 3-6 greens per round depending on handicap. Most people don’t ever think about this stat until attention is brought to it.

Tiger Wood’s all time GIR streak was 29 during his 2000 dominant season.

The longest GIR streak in history was Mike Heinen back in 1995 with 50+.

That’s right. Jin Young Ko finished her weekend victory at the LPGA CME Group Tour Championship with 63 consecutive greens in regulation.

Think about that for a second. After she made the turn during her first round of play last Thursday, she nailed every single green from then on. That is absolutely insane.
