Sergio Garcia Caught On Hot Mic “I Can’t Wait To Leave This Tour”
Rules are rules, but officials are people too.
An errant ruling by a PGA Tour official ended with hot mics catching former Masters champion Sergio Garcia counting down the days until he could depart the Tour.

The incident occurred on the 10th hole of round one of the Wells Fargo Championship at TPC Potomac. Garcia hooked his drive into a penalty area. As Garcia entered the penalty area, a timer was started to allow Garcia the allotted 3 minutes to search for his ball. As it turns out, the ball was on the other side of a creek, and the start of the timer should have been delayed until Garcia’s actual search began and not as he attempted to access the area. Garcia argues that the official had been too quick with the ruling to no avail. As a result, Sergio was not allowed to play his initial ball though he would still go on to par the hole.

However, the incorrect ruling is not the story as much as what was said by Garcia in response.
Upset with the verdict, cameras and microphones for PGA Tour Live caught some potentially telling comments from the 42-year-old Spaniard.
“I can’t wait to leave this tour.”
“Can’t wait to get out of here,”
“Just a couple more weeks until I don’t have to deal with you anymore.”
This was followed by several more expletives directed at the rules official.
This only strengthens the rumors that Garcia plans to leave the tour for the Saudi-backed LIV Golf series. With his eye reportedly on a guaranteed payday, it has been reported by the Telegraph that Garcia would even be willing to forego participation in the Ryder Cup to join the LIV series.
With LIV Golf’s first event slated for June 9, the countdown for Garcia appears to be top of mind.

I say good riddance Sergio, you cannot leave the PGA Tour soon enough for me. You have always been the Tour’s biggest crybaby.
