WATCH: State Golf Tournament Has The Hardest Tournament Pin Placement Ever!
Imagine spending all your free time as a teenager developing your skills on the golf course. You grind before and after school, your parents drove you all over the state for tournaments for the chance to play golf at the highest level.
Now imagine all that getting thrown away because of a pin placement like this one.
Today at the Girls 3A State Golf Tournament at The River Valley Golf Course in Adel, the average score on hole 18 was a quadruple bogey.
No, the golfers weren’t bad, but this had to have been the most unfair pin placement I’ve ever seen. This slope gave the athletes no chance. pic.twitter.com/F7OyqIjbkO

This is just terrible. These girls got absolutely burned by this golf course. I am all for a tough golf course in a tournament.
It should be known that’s it’s been confirmed that it WASN’T the @IGHSAU who chose the pin location.

Even the occasional sucker pin but when the average score is a quadruple bogey because of crap like this, nobody is going to be happy. This takes a greenskeeper’s revenge to a new level.

I’ve seen this happen firsthand before on a public track but nothing like this. I hope this golf course’s superintendent gets a few strongly worded letters.
