Golf World Takes Some Shots at Brooks Koepka’s LIV Golf Win in Saudi Arabia
We last saw Brooks Koepka threaten for a victory at the WM Phoenix Open in February, where he was the defending champion. After dealing with several injuries and missing the cut at both the Masters and the Open Championship, the four-time major winner joined the LIV Golf series.
He scored a victory over the weekend, winning the LIV Golf Invitational Series Jeddah in a playoff over Peter Uihlein, winning a total of $4.75 million in the process.

After not winning over many fans with his money-first approach to the sport, some in the golf world had a bit of fun at Koepka’s expense.
Joel Dahmen, a winner on the PGA Tour who has been one of the more vocal critics of LIV Golf, fired a shot across the bow on Twitter.
If a players wins a golf tournament in a forest and no one sees it, does it count?

If a player wins a golf tournament where we don’t know how many people playing even care because of all the guaranteed money, does it count?

Dahmen is taking a shot at the viewership the LIV Golf numbers have seen as of late.
Disastrously bad viewership for #LIVGolf at both #livgolfbangkok and #LIVGolfJeddah 🫣
Credit again to @Robopz for their amazing efforts tracking this data.
Peak viewership of 18,000 viewers GLOBALLY on a free platform. Embarrassing. pic.twitter.com/xPSUTTqV8I

While the events in Bangkok and Jedda took place in the early-morning hours in the United States, the YouTube broadcast could be viewed anywhere in the world.
To Koepka’s defense, he surely won enough money this week to not have to worry about the outside noise, as summed up by this tweet.
If their bank account goes up by 4.75 million dollars then yes.
